Journal History

Jurnal Fisika Unand was established in 2012 as a scholarly publication of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Andalas. 

The journal was established to support the dissemination of original research in physics and to provide a publication platform for researchers, academics, professionals, and practitioners. Its coverage has developed to include theoretical, computational, experimental, and applied research across classical and modern physics. 

JFU was published four times per year before 2024. Beginning in 2024, the journal adopted a publication schedule of six issues per year. 

The journal publishes research in Indonesian and English and provides immediate open access to its published content. JFU continues to develop its editorial policies, peer-review procedures, publication infrastructure, and research-integrity practices to support transparent and responsible scholarly communication.
