Copyright and License Notice

Copyright Ownership

Authors who publish with Jurnal Fisika Unand (JFU) retain copyright in their articles. JFU does not require authors to transfer copyright ownership to the journal or its publisher.

By submitting and publishing an article with JFU, the authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to:

  1. publish the article and identify JFU as the original publisher;
  2. reproduce and distribute the article in electronic, printed, and other appropriate formats;
  3. publish and distribute the article’s bibliographic information and metadata;
  4. register and maintain the article’s Digital Object Identifier and associated metadata;
  5. include the article in indexing, abstracting, discovery, repository, and digital-preservation services;
  6. preserve the article and its associated publication records;
  7. administer necessary corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other post-publication notices; and
  8. promote and disseminate the article for scholarly and educational purposes.

The license granted to JFU is non-exclusive. Authors retain the right to use, reproduce, distribute, archive, translate, and develop their work, subject to the terms of the applicable publication license and proper acknowledgment of the article’s original publication in JFU.

Publication License

Unless otherwise stated on the article, content published by JFU is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License, commonly identified as CC BY-NC 4.0.

Under this license, users may:

  1. share, copy, and redistribute the published material in any medium or format; and
  2. adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the published material for non-commercial purposes.

These permissions apply provided that users:

  1. give appropriate credit to the author or authors;
  1. identify Jurnal Fisika Unand as the original place of publication;
  2. provide a link to the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License;
  3. indicate whether changes were made;
  4. do not imply that the authors, JFU, or Universitas Andalas endorse the user or the reuse; and
  5. do not apply legal terms or technological restrictions that prevent other users from exercising the rights permitted by the license.

The CC BY-NC 4.0 license permits sharing and adaptation only for non-commercial purposes. Use that is primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation requires permission from the relevant copyright holder. [creativecommons.org]

Author Rights

Authors may, subject to proper acknowledgment of the original publication:

  1. use the article in teaching, presentations, lectures, and professional activities;
  2. include the article or parts of it in a thesis, dissertation, book, or later scholarly work;
  3. share the published article with students, researchers, and professional colleagues;
  4. deposit the article in an institutional, disciplinary, or personal repository;
  5. distribute the article through non-commercial academic networks;
  6. translate or adapt the article; and
  7. reuse figures, tables, data, and other material created by the authors.

When reusing or depositing the article, authors should include the complete citation, Digital Object Identifier, journal title, year, volume, issue, page range or article number, and a link to the version of record.

Third-Party Material

The Creative Commons license applied to an article covers only material for which the authors or another identified rights holder are authorized to grant the license.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce or adapt third-party figures, tables, photographs, maps, datasets, questionnaires, software, substantial quotations, or other protected material unless the intended use is permitted by law or by an existing compatible license.

Third-party material that is not covered by the article’s Creative Commons license must include a clear credit line stating the copyright holder and applicable reuse conditions.

Where a figure, table, image, dataset, or other element contains a separate credit line, users must follow the reuse conditions stated in that credit line.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  1. the submitted work is original;
  2. the authors have the authority to submit and license the work;
  3. all sources are properly acknowledged;
  4. copyright-protected material is used lawfully;
  5. required permissions have been obtained before publication;
  6. related preprints, theses, conference papers, proceedings, repository copies, or earlier versions have been disclosed;
  7. the manuscript does not infringe copyright, privacy, confidentiality, moral rights, contractual rights, or other rights belonging to another person or organization; and
  8. all co-authors have approved the submission and the publication terms.

Prior Dissemination and Self-Archiving

Authors must disclose relevant prior dissemination of the work, including preprints, theses, dissertations, institutional repository copies, conference papers, and proceedings.

Prior dissemination does not automatically prevent consideration by JFU. However, duplicate or redundant publication without appropriate disclosure, acknowledgment, or justification is prohibited.

Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, or published version in a repository, subject to the version and acknowledgment requirements stated by JFU.

When depositing a published version, authors should provide the full citation and link to the version of record.

Copyright and License Statement on Published Articles

The following statement should appear consistently on the article landing page, PDF, HTML version, and publication metadata:

Corrections, Retractions, and Publication Record

The authors’ retention of copyright does not prevent JFU from issuing a correction, expression of concern, retraction, removal notice, or other update required to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Post-publication notices will be managed in accordance with the JFU Corrections, Retractions and Post-Publication Discussion Policy.

Acceptance of the Copyright Notice

By completing a submission, the corresponding author confirms that:

  1. all authors have read and accepted this Copyright Notice;
  1. all authors have approved the submitted manuscript;
  2. the corresponding author is authorized to act on behalf of all authors for submission and publication purposes;
  3. the authors grant JFU the non-exclusive publication rights described above; and
  4. the authors accept responsibility for copyright permissions and third-party material included in the article.
