Aim, Focus and Scope

Aims 

Jurnal Fisika Unand aims to support the advancement and dissemination of reliable research in classical and modern physics. The journal provides an accessible publication platform for original theoretical, computational, experimental, and applied studies that contribute to the development, understanding, measurement, modeling, or application of physical phenomena. 

JFU seeks to: 

Aims of the Journal 

  • Disseminate original and scientifically sound research in physics. 
  • Support scholarly communication among researchers, academics, professionals, and practitioners. 
  • Promote transparent, ethical, and reproducible research practices. 
  • Encourage the responsible application of physics to scientific, technological, environmental, and health-related problems. 
  • Increase the accessibility and visibility of physics research through open-access publication.

JFU publishes original research in physics and closely related interdisciplinary fields, including, but not limited to:

  • Electronics, sensors, and instrumentation.

  • Other areas of classical and modern physics. 

 

Interdisciplinary Research 

Interdisciplinary manuscripts are considered when the research question, theoretical framework, experimental method, measurement, modeling, instrumentation, analysis, or principal contribution has a clear and substantive connection to physics. 

The use of physical instruments, software, artificial intelligence, statistical methods, or computational tools does not by itself place a manuscript within the journal’s scope. The manuscript must demonstrate a meaningful contribution to the understanding, development, measurement, modeling, or application of physics. 

Manuscripts that are primarily descriptive, clinical, engineering, educational, or technological without a substantive physics research question or contribution may be considered outside the journal’s scope. 

Article Type 

JFU primarily publishes Original Research Articles. 

An Original Research Article must present a complete and original report of theoretical, computational, experimental, or applied research. The manuscript must contain a clear research question or objective, an appropriate methodology, sufficiently described analytical procedures, results supported by evidence, and conclusions consistent with the reported findings. 

Any additional article type introduced by the journal will be identified on the website together with its scope, structure, editorial assessment, and peer-review arrangements. 

Language 

Manuscripts may be submitted in Indonesian or English. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the language is clear, accurate, consistent, and suitable for scholarly publication. 

Editorial Assessment 

Every submission is assessed for relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, methodological and analytical soundness, reporting quality, ethical compliance, and adherence to the Author Guidelines. 

A manuscript may be declined without external peer review when it is outside the journal’s scope, incomplete, methodologically or analytically inadequate, inconsistent with the journal’s ethical requirements, or clearly below the journal’s editorial threshold. 

Research manuscripts that pass editorial screening normally undergo double-anonymous peer review in accordance with the JFU Peer Review Policy.
