Author Guidelines

Scope and Article Type 

JFU primarily publishes Original Research Articles. A submission must present a complete and original report of theoretical, computational, experimental, or applied research and must fall within the journal’s Aims, Focus and Scope. 

Submission Method 

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the JFU online submission system. The corresponding author must create or use an existing account, complete all required metadata, upload the manuscript and supporting files, and confirm compliance with the submission requirements. The Journal Office email is for enquiries and technical assistance, not routine manuscript submission. 

Language 

Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English. Authors are responsible for clear, accurate, consistent, and publication-quality language. Both Indonesian and English abstracts must be supplied in accordance with the journal template. 

File Format, Page Size and Length 

The manuscript must be submitted as a Microsoft Word .docx file, use A4 paper size, and follow the current official JFU Manuscript Template. The complete manuscript must not exceed seven pages, including the title, author information, abstracts, main text, tables, figures, acknowledgments, declarations, and references. Authors must not manually alter the template’s page size, margins, column structure, styles, or spacing. 

Double-Anonymous Review File 

The manuscript file submitted for review must not contain author names, affiliations, email addresses, acknowledgments that reveal identity, or other direct identifiers. Author information must be entered in the OJS metadata and, where requested, supplied in a separate title-page file. Authors must also remove identifying information from document properties. 

Title and Author Metadata 

The title must be concise, informative, and no more than 20 words. The submission metadata must contain each author’s full name, institutional affiliation, email address, author order, and ORCID identifier where available. One author must be designated as the corresponding author. 

Abstracts and Keywords 

The manuscript must contain an Indonesian abstract and an English abstract. Each abstract must not exceed 250 words and should state the purpose, methods, principal results, and main conclusion without citations. Provide three to five keywords in alphabetical order for each language version, using terms that support accurate indexing and discovery. 

Main Text 

The main text should normally contain Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion sections, using the headings and formatting provided in the official template. Authors may use justified discipline-specific subheadings where these improve clarity. 

Introduction 

The Introduction should establish the scientific context, identify the research gap or problem, explain the significance of the study, and state the research objective or question. It should be focused and supported by relevant literature. 

Methods 

The Methods section must describe the research design, materials, instruments, software, models, parameters, calibration procedures, data sources, analytical methods, uncertainty treatment, and ethical or safety controls in sufficient detail for scientific evaluation and reasonable replication. 

Results and Discussion 

Results must be reported accurately and without selective omission. Tables and figures should present information efficiently and must not duplicate the text unnecessarily. The Discussion should interpret the results, compare them with relevant literature, explain limitations and uncertainty, and show how the findings contribute to physics. 

Conclusion 

The Conclusion should respond directly to the research objective, summarize the principal findings without introducing new evidence, and state the scientific contribution and relevant limitations or implications. 

Acknowledgments 

Acknowledge individuals or organizations that contributed to the work but do not meet the authorship criteria. Permission must be obtained from people who are named. Routine institutional affiliation should not be repeated as an acknowledgment. 

Author Contributions 

Every submission must include a CRediT Author Contribution Statement using applicable roles: Conceptualization; Data curation; Formal analysis; Funding acquisition; Investigation; Methodology; Project administration; Resources; Software; Supervision; Validation; Visualization; Writing - original draft; and Writing - review and editing. Assignment of a CRediT role does not by itself qualify a person for authorship. 

Competing Interests 

Every manuscript must contain a Competing Interests Statement. If no relevant interests exist, use: “The authors declare no competing interests.” Funding information must be reported separately and does not replace this statement. 

Funding 

Identify every source of financial or material support and include the funder name and grant number where applicable. If the research received no specific funding, use: “This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.” 

Data Availability 

Every research article must include a Data Availability Statement. Authors should identify the repository, persistent identifier, and access conditions for supporting data and code where sharing is ethically, legally, and technically possible. If no new data were created or analyzed, state this explicitly. Restricted data statements must explain the reason for restriction and the lawful access route where access is possible. 

Ethics, Consent, Permits and Safety 

Where applicable, report the name of the approving ethics committee, approval or exemption number, informed-consent process, consent for publication of identifiable information, animal-welfare approval, environmental or collection permits, and radiation, biological, chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, or field-safety requirements. Retrospective ethics approval is not normally acceptable. 

Generative AI Declaration 

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, attribution, confidentiality, and integrity of submitted work. Artificial-intelligence tools cannot be authors. Any substantive use of generative AI in writing, analysis, coding, image generation, or data-related work must be disclosed in accordance with the JFU Generative AI Policy. Authors must verify all AI-assisted output, citations, and references. 

Tables and Figures 

Every table and figure must be numbered consecutively, cited in the text, and supplied with a concise caption. Images must be clear, scientifically appropriate, and free from deceptive manipulation. Authors must retain original, unprocessed image files. Permission and an appropriate credit line are required for third-party material unless reuse is otherwise legally permitted. 

References 

Citations and references must follow APA 7th Edition and correspond exactly with one another. The manuscript should cite at least 15 references, with more than 80% drawn from accredited or reputable journals published within the previous ten years, where appropriate to the subject. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and accessibility of every reference. 

Supplementary Material 

Supplementary files may be used for supporting data, code, extended methods, additional tables or figures, calibration information, or other material that supports evaluation of the article. Supplementary material is subject to editorial review and must not contain material that is essential to understanding the main conclusions unless clearly linked and permanently available. 

Preprints and Prior Dissemination 

Authors must disclose any related preprint, thesis, repository copy, conference paper, proceeding, or earlier version. Prior dissemination must be cited or explained where relevant. Disclosure does not automatically make a manuscript ineligible, but duplicate or redundant publication is prohibited. 

Revision 

Authors are normally given three weeks to submit a revised manuscript. A revision must include a point-by-point response to editor and reviewer comments and clearly identify changes in the manuscript. An extension may be requested before the deadline. If no revision or extension request is received, the journal may close the submission after notifying the corresponding author. 

Resubmission 

A rejected manuscript may be resubmitted only after substantial improvement. A resubmission is treated as a new submission and must disclose the previous manuscript identifier and explain the major changes when requested by the Journal Office. 

Copyright and Licensing 

Authors retain copyright and grant JFU the non-exclusive rights required to publish, identify itself as the original publisher, distribute metadata, preserve the work, and administer corrections or retractions. Unless otherwise stated, articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License. Authors are responsible for permissions for third-party material.
