Sintesis Lapisan Hidrofobik Komposit ZnO/PS-SiO2 untuk Aplikasi Self-cleaning Material

Sintesis lapisan hidrofobik komposit ZnO diberi doping polistirena (PS) dan SiO2 untuk aplikasi self-cleaning material pada substrat kaca tempered. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi SiO2 pada komposit terhadap perolehan nilai sudut kontak permukaan sampel. Variasi SiO2 yang diberikan berturut-turut 0,25 g, 0,5 g, 0,75 g dan 1 g. Metode yang digunakan dalam sintesis yaitu metode sol-gel dan pelapisan substrat dilakukan dengan metode dip coating. Substrat dilapisi sebanyak 12 kali pelapisan dengan ZnO dan 1 kali pelapisan dengan PS-SiO2. Pengujian sudut kontak dilakukan dengan mengambil foto (gambar 2D) air yang diteteskan di atas sampel menggunakan kamera DSLR Sony α 6000 lensa Fix 50 mm. Sudut kontak tetesan air diukur dengan ImageJ software dan diperoleh hasil sudut kontak tertinggi sebesar 122,36˚. Hasil sudut kontak menandakan permukaan bersifat hidrofobik. Ukuran kristal ZnO sebelum dan setelah diberi doping berdasarkan hasil XRD berturut-turut 23,22 nm dan 20,46 nm. Ukuran rata-rata partikel komposit berdasarkan hasil berbesaran citra SEM 50000 x terlihat oleh mata sebesar 400,43 nm. Berdasarkan nilai sudut kontak permukaan yang diperoleh, komposit ZnO/PS-SiO2 berpotensi digunakan sebagai material self-cleaning.
