Abstract

Telah dilakukan studi tentang pengukuran suseptibilitas magnetik bergantung frekuensi pada sedimen Sungai Tallo di Kota Makassar. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode suseptibilitas magnetik menggunakan alat Bartington Susceptibility Meter MS2B. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa suseptibilitas magnetik pada frekuensi rendah dan tinggi terdapat perbedaan yang tidak signifikan yang berarti sampel sedimen hampir tidak memiliki bulir mineral superparamagnetik. Korelasi antara suseptibilitas magnetik bergantung frekuensi dan suseptibilitas magnetik pada frekuensi rendah memiliki korelasi positif yang kuat. Peningkatan χLF menyebabkan χFD juga meningkat. Sampel sedimen mengandung butir multi domain (MD) dan superparamagnetik-simple single domain (SP-SSD). Kelimpahan mineral magnetik dipengaruhi oleh adanya aktivitas antropogenik di sekitar sungai.
