This study aims to identify the characteristics of the fluids at 6 (six) hot springs in Tanah Datar Regency regarding the origin of geothermal fluids, dilution of geothermal fluids and equilibrium of geothermal fluids. The concentrations of Li, B, Na, K, and Mg in each sample were measured using Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES) and Cl concentrations were measured using the titration method. Based on these results, the Cl-Li-B triangle diagram shows that all samples are dominated by Cl, which indicates that the hot springs in Tanah Datar Regency originate from geothermal sources and there is a slight dilution of organic sedimentary rocks. The plot of the Na-K-Mg triangle diagram shows that all samples are in the immature water area, which indicates that the geothermal fluid in Tanah Datar is mixed with quite a lot of surface water.
