This research aims to identify the distribution of magnetic anomalies in the Nagari Aie Angek geothermal prospect area and determine the geothermal potential described in geothermal system modeling. This research was conducted in an area with 1300 m × 1300 m, consisting of 198 data collection points. From the research result, the magnetic anomaly values obtained are in the range -2800 nT to 1800 nT and are dominated by negative magnetic values. This negative magnetic anomaly is caused by heat sources, reservoirs, and the influence of demagnetized volcanic sedimentary rocks. This magnetic anomaly distribution data is plotted into a contour map, which is then performed by upward continuation (smoothing) to eliminate magnetic influence on the surface and emphasize regional effects. Based on the geothermal system’s modeling results, it is found that there are indications of caprock, reservoir, and hot rock, as well as a fault zone that is closely related to the hydrothermal fluid system.
