The determination of radionuclides concentration (Ra-226, Th-232, K-40, and Cs-137) of some foodstuffs such as chilies, rice, sea fish, freshwater fish, cassava, and cassava leaves using gamma spectrometers in Pasar Raya Padang City has been carried out. This study purposed to determine the initial data of radionuclides concentration in foodstuffs at Pasar Raya, Padang City. The result of Ra-226 and Th-232 concentration compared with IAEA TE 1788 and the result of Cs-137 concentration compared with PERMENKES RI No 1031 of 2011. The radionuclides concentration measured using a gamma spectrometer. This study was started by preparing the sample, calibrating the Gamma Spectrometer, and measuring the concentration of the radionuclides. The results showed that the radionuclides detected in foodstuffs were Ra-226 and K-40, while Th-232 and Cs-137 were not detected. The Ra-226 detected in all of the foodstuffs. The highest concentration was 2.73 ± 0.57 Bq/kg in freshwater fish, and the lowest concentration was 1.12 ± 0.28 Bq/kg in chili. The concentration of Ra-226 detected on foodstuffs exceeds the specified limit of IAEA TE 1788. The K-40 detected in all of the foodstuffs with the highest concentration was 958.06 ± 69.84 Bq /kg in chili, and the lowest concentration was 28.44 ± 2.45 Bq/kg in rice.
