Abstract
A qualitative analysis has been conducted to compare the anomaly of critical frequency of Es and F2 layer of ionospheric during Aceh earthquake on April 7th, 2010. The records of ionosonda FMCW of LAPAN Kototabang West Sumatra was used as ionospheric data in ionogram form. The scalling process of ionogram was done in advance to get the daily point of fo for each layer. From scaling founded median to determine up boundary and down boundary. When the median bigger than up boundary or down boundary, precursor will be seen. Resault show that the precursor firstly appear at 14 days before the earthquake on layer foF2. Total appearence of precursor on layer foEs is 4 times and on layer foF2 is 8 times. Based on the analysis, it was found that inequality response was happened in each layer of ionosphere. Expectedly, the cause of inequality response was happened because of the distance differences for each ionosphere layer to the sun so resulted different radioactivity.
Keywords: critical frequency, ionosphere, earthquake precursors.
