KARAKTERISASI SIFAT MEKANIK HASIL ELEKTROPLATING NIKEL KARBONAT (NiCO3) PADA TEMBAGA (Cu)

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang karakterisasi sifat mekanik hasil elektroplating nikel karbonat (NiCO3) pada tembaga (Cu). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi waktu terhadap persentase massa, kuat tarik, kuat tekan, dan kekerasan hasil elektroplating nikel karbonat (NiCO3) pada tembaga (Cu).  Variasi waktu yang digunakan adalah 5, 10, 15, 20, dan 25 menit.  Nikel karbonat (NiCO3) berfungsi untuk pelapisan pada tembaga agar mendapatkan kekerasan, kekuatan tarik dan kuat tekan yang lebih baik.  Pengujiaan kuat tekan dan kuat tarik material terhadap hasil elektroplating dilakukan dengan alat uji tekan dan uji tarik merek wekob 32559 Galdabini.  Hasil uji tarik dan uji tekan tertinggi diperoleh pada waktu pelapisan 15 menit yang menghasilkan persentase massa deposit 7,407% dengan nilai kuat tarik yaitu 3,041 N/cm2, nilai kuat tekan 3,139 N/cm2 serta nilai kekerasan adalah 60,8 HRB.

ABSTRACT

The research about the characterization of the mechanical properties of electroplating results of nickel carbonate (NiCO3) on copper (Cu) has been done.  This study aims to determine the effect of time on the percentage of the mass, tensile strength, compressive strength, and hardness of electroplating nickel carbonate results (NiCO3) on copper (Cu).  Time variation that used is 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 minutes. Nickel carbonate (NiCO3) serves for coating on copper in order to get good results of hardness, tensile strength, and compressive strength.  Characterization of compressive strength and tensile strength of the material to the results of the electroplating is done with test equipment and test press wekob 32559 Galdabini brand appeal.  The highest result of tensile strength, compression strength, and hardness was obtained at the time of plating 15 minutes which resulted in a mass percentage of 7.407% deposit.  The value of the tensile strength is 3.041 N/cm2, the compressive strength is 3.139 N/cm2 and the hardness value is 60 HRB.
