Abstract
It had been done a research to determine the characterization of dosimetry on Ir-192 brachytherapy source by using absolute method. The characterization which was done in this research involved kerma speed  and kerma work on Ir-192 brachytherapy source made by BATAN. The measurement was done by using detector extrapolation chamber against 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm, and 50 cm as distance validity and the measurement used farmer detector as tool measurement validity which had been calibrated with Ir-192. The technigue of data collection was done by measuring radiation of Ir-192 for one minute and converting it to be kerma speed and kerma work. The result of this research is that kerma speed is inversely with distance guadrate between detector and radiation source, the kerma work which is amitted by Ir-192 source made by BATAN is 7,64 x 10-8 Gy s-1 m2.
