Abstract

ABSTRACT

Research on biodistribution analysis of Tc99m pertechnetate and uptake for 18 hyperthyroidism patients at a hospital in Jakarta has been conducted. The thyroid scaning was conducted using in vivo technique. The thyroid gland  scaning was done by injected (118-170) MBq of Tc99m pertechnetate intravenally in the patients arm.  Then, thyroid gland imaging is done for 5 minutes by using gamma camera dual head skylight ADAC merk Philips after injection. The results show that on the all patients toxic, biodistribution mean in right lobes are higher than on left lobes and in toxic hyperthyroidism patients, their biodistribution are higher than in non toxic. Thyroid uptake of toxic hyperthyroidism patients are above the normal range value of thyroid uptake (8.54-16.67)%. Thyroid uptake of non toxic hyperthyroidism patients still within the normal range of uptake (2.19-6.85) %.
